With the borders between countries becoming symbolic in accordance with the developments in science and technology, it has become inevitable for the national culture, economy, science and social life to be affected and therefore to undergo a change. Competition, the natural result of this interaction, is the main factor that makes the breakthrough at the level of advanced technology obligatory as an expected output in research and development activities, especially in higher education.

The aim of the Mechanical Engineering Department, which started education in the 1977-1978 Academic Year, is to contribute to the training of engineers, researchers and scientists by means of undergraduate and graduate education at international standards.

Mechanical engineering, which has a critical role in the development of civilization, has a wide field of interest and is one of the professions that will maintain its importance in the future as it is now and as it was in the past.

The primary goal of our academic staff who proved their scientific competence with the scientific studies carried out at national and international level is to establish the infrastructure that will form the basis of original science and technology that turns into production by reflecting the existing knowledge to the students who are expected to contribute to the science and technology of our country.

With the theoretical and application-based scientific contribution of the competent academic staff, it is our wish to become a Department, which is the source of engineers and researchers who have ethical values and catch up with the information age by using the advanced education, research and application opportunities of our university and faculty.
